At Playful Mindset we believe in the power of outdoor play to disrupt adverse childhood experiences and support children and caregivers' mental health. Along with the MANY benefits of outdoor play, come inherent risks, such as exposure to inclement weather, and interaction with natural elements such as water, fire, plants, and animals. In our programs we invite the "muddy" aspects of life, literally and metaphorically, we play and explore in mud, and we dive deeply into our feelings as they come up to help us understand our emotional worlds.

Our facilitators are trained to assess and balance these benefits with the risks, and to mitigate harm whenever possible. For example, if we feel the weather conditions will put anyone in harm's way, whether driving to our program or in programs, we will cancel programming and give timely notice to families whenever possible. Another example of mitigating risk is staying in open fields instead of going into forested areas during or after a heavy windstorm, or going inside the cabin or yurt if unexpected weather appears during program hours.

To demonstrate that you acknowledge and understand the benefits and the risks that are inherent in outdoor play programming and that you support your child(ren) to participate fully in this program, please return to the form and check the box provided.
